DISCOVER AYMAVILLES
HEART OF VALLEY
A unique place in the center of the Aosta Valley
Aymavilles is located at 646 meters above sea level at the mouth of the Cogne Valley; the favorable location has allowed a flourishing development of viticulture, which has its strong point in the production of Torrette red wine.
Set on a hill to dominate the landscape, the 14th century castle surrounded by a park has four crenellated cylindrical towers that characterize its architecture, making it unique in the Aosta Valley.
In proximity of the Pont d’Ael hamlet, on the right side of the road leading up to Cogne from Aymavilles, an aqueduct-bridge in masonry and stone blocks built, measuring 56 metres in height and more than 50 metres in length. An inscription on the northern front attributes the building’s construction at the year 3 B.C.
